Is my family eligible for Pause?
Pause welcomes all families with a special needs child. Special needs is defined broadly and will provide care for children with physical, mental, developmental, medical, behavioral and/or learning challenges. We take children as young as 3 months old at some locations and currently all of our locations are also accepting siblings.
How do I enroll?
Caregiver’s will need to complete a one-time enrollment packet for every child participating in our program. Enrollment Packets are required for any child in the family with special needs. Sibling packets are required for other children living in your household that will be participating in the Pause program. Once this step is completed, families will only need to fill out a simple one-page registration form for the specific events they would like to attend.

What should I expect after sending in the enrollment packet?
Pause is led and organized by a small number of part time staff, college interns and many volunteers. Timeliness matters to us, but the enrollment process may take up to a week. Here are the steps families should expect during the enrollment process.
- New Enrollment Confirmation Email – This communication verifies the packet(s) have been received and have started to be processed.
- Welcome Letter – a letter mailed to you from the Pause Program Coordinator that gives program vision and mission and ways to get plugged in as you start the enrollment process.
- New Family Follow-Up Email – Our Pause Family Coordinator is your direct line of support and will contact you with next steps. Because Pause has several different supports, this will include a 10 minute online tool we call the Family Journey Map. This tool helps us best understand the needs of your family and how to best support you!
How do I find out about Pause events?
Email - The Family Coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org) will send an email with registration form to all Pause families one month prior to event. If your family does not have email, please request for a registration form to be mailed.

How do I register my children/family for an event?
Families are expected to complete and return the 1 page form. Enrollment is taken on a first come, first served basis. Limited availability is possible due to facility accommodations or volunteer availability. An email will be sent to family confirming status of registration. This email will either confirm registration or advise family of waiting list status.
